Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a permanent part time Laboratory Technician based at our Berkshire College of Agriculture campus to work 22.5 hours per week on a term time only basis (38 weeks per year). The role pays from G16 £12,500.59 to G19 £13,893.93 (full time equivalent being G16 £24,098 to G19 £26,784), which will be dependent on experience and qualifications. The shift pattern is flexible across the working week and could be spread over 3 or more days.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the student experience by providing high quality technical support across the science laboratories at the Berkshire College of Agriculture. You will take ownership of the preparation and management of laboratory resources, ensuring the precision setup of equipment, chemicals, materials, and apparatus, as well as the preparation of samples and specimens essential for practical lessons and research.
A core part of this role is ensuring our laboratories remain safe, compliant and highly functional. We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations, alongside the technical ability to perform routine maintenance and ensure all laboratory equipment is kept in peak condition.
To be successful in this position, you should hold a qualification in a relevant scientific study area, such as Biology or Chemistry. You will have proven experience working within a scientific laboratory environment and possess the technical capability to efficiently set up and dismantle complex scientific equipment as required by the curriculum.
