The Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Technician in Electrical to join our Structural Technologies Department at our Slough and Langley campus on a full‑time permanent basis.
Role Overview
This full‑time Technician in Electrical role involves working 37 hours per week Monday – Friday on an all‑year‑round basis at Slough and Langley College, reporting to the Head of Department – Structural Technologies. It is on Scale G of our Support Staff pay scale offering a salary between G17 £25,483 up to G19 £27,284.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the efficient and safe operation of workshops, including maintenance of equipment and management of stores and consumables.
- Assist teachers with practical sessions and support students during End Point Assessments.
- Maintain a clean workshop environment, conduct safety inspections, perform repairs, and adhere to college policies regarding health, safety, and risk management.
- Organise and document workshop activities, ensuring proper working practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 trade qualification in Electrical.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Experience working in a workshop setting with machining tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining organised, methodical work practices.
- Experience with young people or within an educational environment is desirable but not required.
