We are looking for an experienced business development professional to accelerate growth across our Biometrics and Scientific Services portfolio. You will build relationships with senior decision-makers, shape solutions with our scientific experts, and lead complex opportunities from initial engagement through contract award.

At BC Platforms, you will join a global team using healthcare data, technology, and scientific expertise as our new Business Development Director to accelerate medical research and improve patient outcomes. The Business Development Director role is designed for an experienced business development professional with a strong background in CRO, biometrics, or life sciences services. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on generating new business and expanding strategic client relationships.

Working alongside experts in clinical data management, biostatistics, statistical programming, real-world evidence, and operations, the Business Development Director will develop and lead opportunities from initial engagement through contract award. Success in this role requires strong commercial judgement, experience managing complex service-based sales cycles, and the ability to build credibility with senior decision-makers across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical research sectors.

As our new Business Development Director, your primary objective will be to generate new business, build a qualified pipeline, and drive revenue growth across our Scientific Services portfolio. Our Scientific Services portfolio includes clinical data management, biostatistics, statistical programming, biometrics and analytics consulting, functional service provision (FSP), real-world evidence, and broader evidence-generation services supporting clinical, regulatory, and market access decisions.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives for our Scientific Services business.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities to provide outsourced scientific services with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, and medical device organisations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders across prospective and existing accounts.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on biometrics outsourcing and scientific services strategies.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and market intelligence.
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through proposal development, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and handover to delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across clinical data management, biostatistics, statistical programming, real-world evidence, and operations to develop compelling customer solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposals (RFPs), proposals, pricing strategies, and bid defence meetings.
  • Understand customer scientific and operational needs and translate them into commercially viable project-based, FSP, or tailored resourcing solutions using our global delivery capabilities.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, provide accurate forecasting and reporting, and contribute commercial insight to budgeting and business planning.
  • Represent BC Platforms at conferences, industry forums, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Monitor market developments, customer needs, and competitive activity, sharing insights that support business strategy and service development.
  • Strengthen customer retention and expand existing relationships through additional services and long-term strategic partnerships.

Benefits include learning and development opportunities, regular company events, healthcare plans, flexible hours, paid time off, and equipment such as a laptop, mobile phone, and headphones.

The Business Development Director role is ideal for someone with a proven track record of generating new business, building strategic client relationships, and selling biometrics, biostatistics, statistical programming, clinical data management, functional service provision (FSP), or related CRO services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical organisations. You combine strong commercial judgement with a consultative and collaborative approach.

You know how to build credibility with senior decision-makers, understand complex scientific and operational needs, and turn them into relevant service solutions. You are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, driving opportunities forward while bringing together scientific, operational, and commercial experts at the right stages of the sales process.

Requirements include established relationships within pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations, demonstrated success winning new business for outsourced scientific services, experience leading RFP responses, proposal development, bid defences, and commercial negotiations, and 8+ years of successful business development experience within clinical research organisations (CROs), biometrics providers, or life sciences services organisations.

Proven ability to manage complex service-based sales cycles, strong understanding of clinical trial and RWE outsourcing models, supported by experience selling biometrics, biostatistics, statistical programming, clinical data management, FSP, or related CRO services, and a Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline are also required.

Fluent written and spoken English, with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills across scientific, operational, and senior commercial audiences, experience developing international commercial partnerships, and an existing network of senior decision-makers across European pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations are preferred.

Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, or a related field and experience selling standalone biometrics services and FSP solutions are also advantageous.
