BC Financial Search is working with an established accountancy practice in Leeds to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a broad, hands-on position suited to somebody with good experience working within an accountancy practice or bookkeeping environment who enjoys managing their own workload and having regular contact with clients.
The role will be predominantly office-based in Leeds, with occasional travel to client premises where required. You could be studying towards AAT, already AAT qualified, or simply have strong practical experience and be qualified by experience. Study support can also be provided for somebody who would like to continue their professional development.
Salary is expected to be in the region of £32,000–£40,000, depending on experience.
- Completing bookkeeping for a range of businesses and sole traders
- Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements and submissions
- Preparing management accounts
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations
- Working extensively with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks
- Liaising directly with clients regarding their bookkeeping and accounting requirements
- Supporting the wider accounts team with additional accounting work where appropriate
The position offers plenty of variety and would suit somebody who enjoys working directly with clients rather than performing a purely transactional bookkeeping role. The firm is flexible regarding formal qualifications and is particularly interested in candidates with strong practical bookkeeping experience.
- Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or similar environment
- Good working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks
