Personal Tax Manager – Doncaster
£45,000–£65,000 depending on experience | Flexible and hybrid working
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Tax professional to join the Doncaster office of a growing national accountancy and business advisory group.

You will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, oversee compliance work and develop trusted relationships with individuals, business owners and other private clients.
The firm is flexible on the level of appointment and would consider an established Personal Tax Manager, an experienced Assistant Manager ready for progression, or a more senior individual capable of taking on wider responsibility.

Duties and responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, taking responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of their work.
- Review personal tax returns and supporting computations prepared by junior members of the team.
- Prepare and review more complex personal tax returns where required.
- Advise clients on a range of personal tax matters and identify opportunities to provide additional support.
- Work on areas including capital gains tax, property income, investment income, inheritance tax, trusts and other private-client matters, depending on your experience.
- Ensure all returns and submissions are completed accurately and in accordance with HMRC deadlines.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and developing strong, long-term relationships.
- Liaise with colleagues across accounts, corporate tax and other specialist teams to provide joined-up advice.
- Coach, support and review the work of junior colleagues.
- Contribute to internal projects, process improvements and the continued development of the tax team.
- Work closely with senior colleagues and support the future growth of the Doncaster office.
Experience and qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least four years' experience working in personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK personal tax compliance and current HMRC requirements.
- Experience managing, or assisting with the management of, a personal tax portfolio.
- Experience preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and supporting computations.
- The confidence to communicate directly with clients and explain technical matters clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
- A professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA or ATT.
Applications may also be considered from candidates who are qualified by experience and can demonstrate strong, relevant personal tax expertise.
