Role Overview:
BBVA is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our dynamic and growing team, based in London. This role will support both the UK and Continental Europe, working closely with HR Centres of Excellence in Madrid and partnering with local teams, such as Payroll & Benefits and Recruitment. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage the HR needs of a region experiencing exceptional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic HR partner to business leaders in the UK and Continental Europe, providing guidance on HR strategies, policies, and processes.
- Collaborate closely with HR Centres of Excellence in Madrid to ensure alignment on key HR initiatives, such as talent management, compensation, performance development, and organisational design.
- Partner with local teams in Payroll, Benefits, and Recruitment to ensure the seamless delivery of HR services and to address specific regional needs.
- Provide expert support on employee relations, helping to resolve complex HR issues while ensuring compliance with local labour laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work closely with Corporate & Investment Banking teams, offering tailored HR support to help achieve business objectives.
- Support change management initiatives, organisational development, and the integration of regional and global HR programs.
- Develop and implement workforce strategies that support the region’s exceptional growth, while addressing evolving challenges and business needs.
- Drive talent retention, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives across the region.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work culture aligned with BBVA’s values.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in Corporate & Investment Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of UK and Continental European labour laws and HR practices.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and partner with Centres of Excellence, local teams, and business leaders.
- Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing complex HR projects and supporting business transformation initiatives.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and immediate HR needs.
