The Marketing & Communications manager will be responsible for leading the communication and marketing needs for the local market in the UK. This person will be based in London, reporting and collaborating with the Head of Marketing in Madrid and with the Head of Talent and Culture CIB UK, based in London. You will be part of a global team and work closely with local stakeholders and other MAR&COMs teams based in Spain and Mexico.
About the job:
- You will spend your time between communication and marketing tasks.
- This person will be responsible for planning and developing the execution of the assigned Marketing and Communications deliverables in order to boost the BBVA CIB brand, leading to a stronger brand awareness, as well as driving business generation opportunities, aligned with the CIB business teams.
- Understanding and implementing marketing & communication opportunities with third parties with the aim of boosting the BBVA brand.
- Understanding how media outlets work and the ability to interact with journalists on a one-to-one basis. Existing relations with relevant journalists will be especially appreciated.
- Deliver KPI reports to help monitor performance, identify insights/trends/anomalies, ensure all deliverables are meeting defined goals, and track results.
- Co-led with local and global teams for the communications strategy in the UK market with the objective of increasing BBVA's awareness.
- Reach communication strategic objectives.
- Increase the local brand awareness visibility.
- Coordinate the execution and measurement of the online and offline communication activity.
- Writing press releases, news, publications and content.
- Accompanying and supporting spokespersons in their meetings or direct contact with the local media.
- Participate in management and generating content for the company’s website and contribute to boosting other communication channels and social networks in collaboration with the global team.
- In charge of managing the local budget assigned.
- Collaborate with local and global teams to execute marketing needs aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the execution of client events and participate in the coordination of third-party business sponsorships in collaboration with external partners.
Requirements:
- Academic background in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in the financial industry and preferably the CIB market.
- Strong background in managing corporate and client events.
- Knowledge of social media and influencers to more effectively connect with our potential stakeholders.
- Drive a 360º content and media approach, including the implementation of SEO, Content, email and owned and paid media strategies (when required), and deliver its execution and measurement indicators.
- Strong experience in defining and coordinating corporate and business events with clients.
- Experience in collaborating with external teams and agencies and different types of providers, ensuring that the defined goals are effectively executed.
- Experience in using owned and earned media strategies to develop brands and deliver business results.
Technical skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Accustomed to working in a Google environment, highly recommended.
- Language: Fluency in English and Spanish is a must.
- Good communication skills are a must, both written and spoken.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and solve problems effectively.
- Accustomed to managing budgets and strong experience in the negotiation process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments, including product, sales, and different back-office stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Compliance, Procurement).
- A team player with an open, collaborative, and multicultural mindset.
- Used to work with high-performance teams (attention to detail in search of work perfection).
- Creativity and autonomy with a “think outside the box” mentality.
