The CIB UK Finance team is responsible for planning/budgeting of the CIB business in order to properly forecast and track the results and provide the necessary support to management to monitor the business and make strategic decisions. In addition, the team is in charge of the accounting and regulatory reporting, cost management functions and tax.
About the job:
- UK Tax Compliance:
- Monitor changes in UK tax laws, regulations, rulings, and procedures, and assess their potential impact.
- Identify and implement local tax requirements for the UK Branch, including review processes and documentation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and processes to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
- Review tax filings and maintain appropriate regulatory tax reporting policies and procedures.
- Provide support during HMRC audits and other regulatory inquiries.
- Participate in internal and external working groups on tax matters, and represent BBVA in industry advocacy groups related to CIB tax issues.
- Assist in the development, update, and maintenance of Policies & Procedures, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, accounting firms, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective tax compliance and risk control.
- Liaise with relevant Holding teams regarding ongoing tax matters.
- Organise the UK Tax Committee on a quarterly basis.
- Respond to tax-related queries and provide day-to-day tax advisory support to CIB business units.
