We are seeking a highly motivated Vice President with a strong analytical foundation and deep technical skills to join our Investment Banking team. The ideal candidate will bring advanced modelling capabilities, working knowledge of Bloomberg, and a solid understanding of fixed income markets, Capital, Rating and Liability Management. This role offers the opportunity to broaden sell-side experience while focusing on debt products within a dynamic, cross-functional environment with a global mandate.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Bank Advisory seniors in defining and implementing business strategy and business plan, specifically for countries and/or sectors assigned.
- In depth analysis of clients / sectors / countries and specific situations, jointly with coverage and product teams, that can lead to value added opportunities or strategic discussions.
- Knowledge of relevant themes and trends at sector or country level.
- The role will require outstanding managerial and organizational capabilities to maintain the workstream and coordinate with different stakeholders within the Global team and other stakeholders.
- Lead cross-level collaboration within the team, guiding and coordinating junior contributors to deliver exceptional, client-ready pitch materials.
- Assisting the team in the client dialogue with financial institutions, including banks, asset managers, as it relates to balance sheet and ratings optimization.
- Active interaction with internal teams (coverage, DCM, risk, legal and products) to provide holistic and cross-product advice to clients.
- Ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with both existing clients and prospects in the financial sector.
- Review and validate analysis and draft pitches done by DA Product Specialists, to be sent internally or to be delivered to clients.
- Attend client meetings recurrently, with dialogue at senior level.
- Gain client trust, based on technical knowledge and commitment, enabling 1) originating value added business with client, and 2) elevating strategic dialogue.
- Establish long term relationships with Senior Rating Agencies Analysts, in order to extract value added information in each relevant sector or client situation.
- Manage DA Product Specialists on a day to day basis, and train them.
- Expertise is pertinent regulatory capital requirements, solvency regulations, and rating agency methodologies.
- Build and develop complex financial models to measure capital and debt.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities/competencies
- This role is very much for a candidate looking to elevate their experience and professional knowledge in a fast pace global environment with focus on debt products and with the possibility to reach a global client base.
- Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams with understanding of local jurisdictions.
- In addition to strong interpersonal and communications skills the role requires advanced quantitative skills.
- 5+ years of previous experience at Investment Bank, Financial Start-up, Rating Agency related to financial institution capital structures, funding as well as Bank Treasury.
- Advanced level knowledge of banks, insurance companies, and other financial institution fundamentals.
- Rating agency methodologies.
- Knowledge, intermediated or advanced, of Rating agency methodologies.
- Knowledge of fixed income instruments and pricing.
- Knowledge and exposure to Liability Management would also be a plus.
