About the role:

  • Structure tailor-made solutions for institutional clients in the UK & Europe, focusing on secured financing and derivative transactions (e.g., asset-based loans, synthetic risk transfer, private securitizations, TRS, repos).
  • Coordinate strategically with Trading, Origination, and Distribution desks to strengthen BBVA Global Markets product trading and structured product development.
  • Analyze transactions, collaborate with counsel to structure deals, and negotiate documentation.
  • Engage with the Risk unit for credit line approvals and support team interactions with Risk.
  • Participate in projects related to new IT tools, strategic plans, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist in introducing the unit’s activities to internal and external clients.
  • Focus on generating recurring income and boosting revenues through product origination.
  • Report performance indicators to the in-line manager periodically and as needed.

We seek a mid- to senior-level professional (minimum 8 years of experience), with expertise in the UK/European institutional market, working with private credit funds, hedge funds, private equity firms, asset managers, or alternative asset managers. The candidate should have a proactive approach, strong analytical, and communication skills, with support from sales and trading colleagues.

Academic background and technical knowledge:

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields; a Master’s in Finance is preferred.
  • Additional certifications like CFA or EFPA are valued.
  • Experience in Global Markets, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Structured Finance, and Securities Financing Transactions.
  • Familiarity with information systems such as Bloomberg, Markit, Murex, Excel, etc.

Languages:

  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Spanish is a plus but not required.
