Debt Advisory Banks & Insurance plays a strategic role in supporting financial institutions globally on capital structure, funding strategy, and balance‑sheet optimization. The team advises banks and insurance companies on the design and deployment of capital and subordinated debt instruments, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, rating agency considerations, and long‑term business strategy.
Acting as an independent and trusted advisor, the team provides holistic guidance across the capital lifecycle from forward‑looking capital planning and strategic issuance decisions to the optimization of existing liabilities. The focus is on helping clients enhance capital efficiency, preserve financial flexibility, and proactively manage capital under evolving regulatory, market, and macroeconomic conditions.
Debt Advisory works in close partnership with Client Coverage, Rating Advisory, M&A, Debt Capital Markets, and Liability Management teams to deliver fully integrated strategic solutions. This collaborative approach enables the team to balance market execution considerations with broader strategic objectives, including growth resilience and shareholder value, while maintaining an unbiased and institution‑centric perspective.
About the job:
- Lead global advisory discussions with banks, insurers, asset managers, and institutional investors.
- Originate structure and execute SRT and capital relief transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide guidance on Basel III/IV regulatory capital rules, rating agency methodologies, and execution strategies.
- Drive origination and execution of private asset‑backed finance transactions (forward flows, NAV‑based structures, senior/mezzanine financings).
- Partner with global coverage teams to deliver integrated advisory solutions.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, capital relief investors, and credit funds worldwide.
- Oversee analytics, modelling, transaction documentation, investor distribution, and cross‑border deal execution.
- Mentor junior staff and lead cross‑regional working groups.
Skills, knowledge and abilities/competencies:
- 15 years in structured credit, SRT, securitisation or balance‑sheet advisory.
- Extensive experience with global regulatory frameworks (Basel III/IV, EBA, ECB, PRA, FCA, Fed, SEC, OSFI, APRA).
- Strong expertise in structured credit (ABS, RMBS, CLO, CMBS, CDO, private ABS) and synthetic/cash SRT structures.
- SRT origination and execution track record.
- Ability to manage cross‑border advisory and execution processes.
- Strong analytical, communication and client relationship skills.
- Global investor relationship network across banks, insurers, credit funds and asset managers.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, modelling and structured finance analytics.
