Responsibilities

  • As part of the CIB Structured Trade Finance Solutions team in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for the origination and structuring of structured solutions for clients in the UK, Switzerland, the EU, the UAE, and South Africa, such as transactionally secured bilateral facilities, inventory finance with Trade Co, carbon credit monetization, limited recourse prepayments, PXF, and borrowing base facilities.
  • Originate and structure non-vanilla trade finance transactions.
  • Take on and handle transactions autonomously.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, with a strong hunter mindset focused on growth and client acquisition.
  • Stay informed on industry developments and competitor strategies, proactively adapting sales plans to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Analyze transactions (feasibility, risks); identify key issues and propose improvements to achieve successful financing.
  • Actively engage with the Distribution team to enable the Bank to originate and distribute Structured Trade Finance transactions.
  • Prepare Information Memorandums and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities.
  • Job Requirements

Deep knowledge and expertise in structured trade finance products such as transactionally secured facilities, inventory finance with Trade Co, carbon credit monetization, limited recourse prepayments, PXF, and borrowing base structures.

  • Relevant experience in Structured Trade or Commodity Finance, or a comparable background in investment banking or related industries.
  • Proven experience in winning and executing large-scale mandates and/or lead arranger mandates.
  • Business school/university degree in economics, business administration, law, or engineering.
  • CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or working towards a similar accreditation.
  • Experience working in an international environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to engage with clients across the EMEA region.
  • Fluency in English, with another European language preferred.
  • Structured and organized; strong analytical skills.
