Focused on the intersection of risk and innovation, this unit specializes in analyzing complex financial metrics and business plans to support strategic underwriting decisions. As an Intern, you will work closely with experienced risk professionals to support the analysis of ongoing transactions, assist in the review of financial statements, and contribute to the preparation of internal assessment materials. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to the underwriting process and credit risk management, providing a solid foundation in how BBVA evaluates and supports the next generation of industry leaders.
About the job:
- Academic Background: Penultimate-year undergraduate or Master’s students in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitatively oriented disciplines.
- Right to Work: Candidates must demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK; evidence will be required during the interview stage.
- Availability: Applicants must be available to complete the full internship duration during the summer months (May to August).
Key Responsibilities (Support & Training focus)
- Financial & Risk Analysis Support: Assist in the review and organization of financial information derived from business plans and financial statements. Support the team in analyzing key financial metrics to contribute to the assessment of credit risk. Assist in the preparation of internal materials and presentations for risk evaluation purposes.
- Deal & Underwriting Support: Support the team in the analysis of ongoing transactions by helping to organize relevant information and documentation. Assist in the preparation of summaries and internal documentation related to deal assessment. Help ensure that all required documentation for underwriting processes is properly structured and organized.
- Team & Administrative Support: Support the team in gathering basic documentation required for internal assessment processes. Support day-to-day team activities, including routine documentation tasks and general administrative assistance.
