Drive the market making and risk hedging strategy for the short/long term bonds & repo trading activity, contributing to maximise the franchise in the product distribution to clients/investors. Be responsible for the pricing and risk hedging of the trading desk under his/her responsibility, with focus on promoting excellence in the service offered to both internal/external clients.
Team of 8 traders making markets on EGBs split between Madrid and London.
About the job:- Define the desk strategy alongside the desk manager focusing on meeting internal and external customers’ needs and complying with the risk and regulatory requirements.
- Meet internal and external clients' needs/demands.
- Give counterparty service in bonds and repos, quote bid/offer prices + increase the flow of orders.
- Perform dynamic hedging of own market positions, breaking and covering the different risks in coordination with other trading desks.
- Ensure desk fulfillment with obligations related to primary dealership status.
- Oversee support of other Trading desks in covering their trading books risks, promoting the generation of synergies in the global rates hedging strategy.
- Supervise desk books’ risks, driving the hedging strategy to ensure global risk exposure is balanced.
- Monitor the market continuously ensuring that trading parameters of valuing models are according to market risks and conditions.
- Supervise desks’ daily closing procedures and main trading indicators (P&L, inventory etc.).
- Coordinate the update of internal market databases.
- Encourage coordination and alignment with other GM desks.
- Participate in internal committees when required - Report to in-line manager on a periodic basis.
- Undergraduate degree
- 3-5 years of experience in market making EGBs.
- Use of the software required to quote: Bloomberg, Ion or similar.
- English (fluent).
- A good command of Italian will be valued.
- Ability to interact with clients and sales.
