BBS Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Chefs and Catering Assistants to work on an ad hoc basis within a care environment in Malton, North Yorkshire.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Chef
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
- Follow the IDDSI Framework to prepare modified texture meals safely and accurately.
- Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver an excellent service.
Chef Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef, preferably within a care, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
- Knowledge and experience of the IDDSI Framework
- Excellent understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Catering Assistant
- Support the chefs with food preparation and meal service.
- Assist in serving meals to residents in line with dietary requirements.
- Prepare food and beverages as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
- Wash up and assist with stock rotation and storage.
- Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Catering Assistant Requirements
- Previous catering or kitchen experience.
- Food Safety Certificate
- Experience working within a care environment (essential).
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
