BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency specialising in the Transport and Logistics sector, supplying staff to a wide range of clients across London, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas. We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Care Worker to work with our client in Islington and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities for the Care Worker:

  • Deliver person-centred, strengths-based care and support in accordance with individual Support Plans.
  • Implement support plans and provide high-quality care and support services.
  • Act as a key worker for a small caseload of residents.
  • Report safeguarding concerns immediately, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014 in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Support service users, families, carers, and professionals to manage risks while promoting independence and choice.
  • Provide medication support in accordance with Support Plans, NICE Guideline (NG67), and organisational policies.
  • Assist with nutritional needs and specific dietary requirements.
  • Provide updates on individuals' goals and progress to Team Leaders and Management.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to personal property, finances, and keys.
  • Report changes in wellbeing, health, or circumstances promptly to the Duty Manager or emergency services where appropriate.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and professional records in line with organisational standards.
  • Liaise effectively with health professionals and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
  • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and team discussions.

Working Hours for the Care Worker:

  • Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.
  • The role involves working a variety of shifts, including:
  • Day shifts
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Bank holidays

Requirements for the Care Worker:

  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and behaviours that may challenge.
  • Knowledge of health and social care legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity legislation.
  • Level 2 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day rota.
  • Willingness to work in service users' homes and community settings.
  • Strong communication, record-keeping, and teamwork skills.
