We are currently recruiting a Housing Officer to work for our client based in Bournemouth.

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Housing Officer to join our busy Housing Services team. The role involves managing a designated neighbourhood patch across Bournemouth, delivering high-quality housing management services and ensuring sustainable tenancies. You will act as a key point of contact for residents and colleagues, handling complex housing issues and providing expert advice on tenancy and accommodation matters. The role requires a strong ability to respond quickly to emerging issues within the community and work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Look after a specific local area and handle all housing services for it.
  • Give advice on housing options, tenancies, and related questions.
  • Help tenants keep their homes and follow policies.
  • Manage empty properties and get them ready for new tenants.
  • Handle a wide range of housing cases.
  • Investigate issues such as tenancy breaches, fraud, safeguarding, and anti-social behaviour.
  • Work on cases involving safeguarding, domestic abuse, and welfare concerns.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing social housing as a Housing Officer or in a similar housing role.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-social behaviour prevention and intervention measures.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including responding promptly to urgent neighbourhood issues.
  • Previous experience working within local government or a housing association.
