We are currently recruiting for an experienced Caretaker to work for our client in London and surrounding areas.
Main Purpose of Caretaker:
To work flexibly and collaboratively to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety across internal and external areas of estates, blocks, or other designated areas.
Key responsibilities of Caretaker:
- Clean and maintain all internal and external communal areas on both a scheduled and reactive basis
- Safely use appropriate cleaning equipment, chemicals, and materials in line with health and safety guidelines
- Remove fly-tipping, bulky waste, and other items from communal areas and dwellings, including loading vehicles and transporting waste to approved disposal sites.
- Deliver consistently high-quality work, ensuring compliance with required standards, procedures, and systems
- Monitor and follow up on reported repairs as directed by managers or supervisors
- Carry out routine inspections of estates, identifying issues such as litter build-up, blocked chutes, damaged lighting, fire safety hazards, and general communal repairs.
- Ensure the correct use and care of uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), mobile phones, and personal safety devices provided for the role
- Participate in weekend working on a rota basis where required
Working hours: 35 hours Monday – Friday
Requirements for Caretaker:
- A valid UK driving license
- Enhanced DBS
- Ability to carry out physical duties, including lifting, moving waste, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comply with all relevant council policies, procedures, and standards, including Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity
