We are seeking an Accounts Semi Senior to join our client, a well‑established Chartered Accountancy Practice located in Barnet. In this role, you will play an integral part in providing audit and accounting services to a diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities- Support a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, addressing their unique financial needs.
- Prepare a variety of assignments, including financial accounts, corporation tax returns, management accounts, self‑assessment and partnership tax returns, rental, self‑employed, and partnership accounts, capital gains tax returns, VAT returns, and ATED returns.
- Engage in tax planning for clients to optimise their financial positions and meet tax obligations effectively.
- Review accounts, corporation tax computations, and VAT workings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Establish direct communication with clients, proactively addressing queries, resolving problems, and conveying complex financial information in an easily understandable manner.
- Represent clients by liaising with HMRC and handling inspection queries professionally and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members to ensure that client expectations, deadlines, and budgets are met.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in accountancy software, with experience in Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Iris being advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in tax accounting and familiarity with various tax returns, regulations, and compliance standards.
- The ability to prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure precision in financial documentation and reporting.
- Proficiency in problem‑solving and a proactive approach to client inquiries and tax challenges.
- Collaborative mindset and the capacity to work seamlessly with colleagues and clients to meet shared financial objectives.
- Dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards in accounting and client relationships.
