Job Summary
The R&D Technical Assistant will support the R&D Scientist in the day‑to‑day activities of the Centre of Excellence, helping with the development of recombinant proteins from microbial and mammalian sources.
Responsibilities
- Assist on day‑to‑day tasks with the research scientist with minimal supervision. Previous laboratory experience is required.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and media as instructed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in working order, ensuring calibrations, cleanliness and proper operation of hoods, pipettes, pH meters, spectrophotometers, autoclave, incubator, shaker, water baths, reactors, homogenizers, centrifuges, etc.
- Assist the scientist with accurate data logging on experiments and report generation.
- Help maintain user logs, chemical lists, stock intakes and ordering.
- Ensure smooth supply of laboratory inventory requirements.
- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware, plasticware, and other consumables.
Qualifications
Previous laboratory experience required.
