BBI exists to help our customers create advances that improve health and save lives. We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.
The Role
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the technical engineering team of critical utilities and production infrastructure at BBI. You will ensure that our HVAC, pressure, gas systems, vacuum systems, effluent system and associated production equipment meet both operational demands and strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Validated Thermal Systems: Oversee industrial boilers (clean steam and plant steam) and chiller systems. Ensure precise temperature control for jacketed vessels and HVAC systems to ensure correct production environments.
- Air Handling & HVAC: Manage high-efficiency Air Conditioning and AHUs with integrated HEPA filtration. Maintain room pressure differentials (positive/negative) to ensure ISO cleanroom classifications.
- Pressure & Compressed Gases: Manage compressed air (oil‑free, medical grade) and vacuum systems used in distillation, drying, and pneumatic conveying. Maintain liquid nitrogen, nitrogen, CO2 and Oxygen systems.
- Asset Lifecycle & GMP: Lead the Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new production equipment. Manage the Calibration and Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules within a validated CMMS (e.g., SAP or Maximo).
- Compliance & Safety: Serve as the technical person for PSSR (Pressure Systems) and all equipment with compliance requirements.
You Should Apply If:
- Experience in a GMP or similarly regulated environment (Pharma, Biotech, or MedTech).
- Knowledge of gas safety standards, HVAC specifications, Gas systems, mechanical equipment etc.
- Expertise in writing SOPs, Change Controls, and Deviation Investigations (CAPA).
- Experience with Clean Steam Generators, HVAC systems, Effluent systems and Purified Water (PW) loops.
- Familiarity with pipework installation, welding, pumps, machine work, process improvements and project works.
