We are currently recruiting a multi-skilled Zone Maintenance Manager to join our site-based engineering team in Hull on a full-time, permanent basis.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias or someone who has a very good understanding of electrical who is currently in a management position or has experience in a management role. Ideally, you’ll be electrically biased, but you’ll also have strong knowledge and experience in working with a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fabrication and machining products. The machinery and equipment we have onsite include conveyors, sealers, weighers, metal detectors, depositors, mixers, ovens and cutters. An ability to service and maintain a number of these is highly advantageous, however, we wouldn’t expect you to be an expert in all areas. This role is working 7am-3pm, Monday and Friday, however, you will need to be flexible due to the nature of the role. Our Hull site is split into 3 zones with its own dedicated engineering team. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager and may be required to deputise for them during periods of absence/holiday.
The role of a Zone Maintenance Manager:
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to promote Health & Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Attend cross-functional shift review & handover meetings, accountable for delivering assigned actions as required.
- Plan & prioritise work to minimise machinery downtime ensuring maximum use of resources.
- Co-ordinate maintenance priorities with the shift team to ensure production disruption is minimised/avoided.
- Coach, develop and lead shift engineers to establish a culture that supports best in class practices.
- Own levels and accuracy of downtime and downtime recording to develop target areas for further analysis.
- Continuously identify ways to reduce costs, improve standards & efficiency in all areas, ensure Engineering management systems & procedures are followed in all areas of responsibility.
- Achieve set GMP targets for Engineering areas.
- Ensure company & statutory regulations/guidelines are followed.
- Build close relationships with operations team leaders working as one team to deliver world-class manufacturing.
- Lead by example, demonstrating high standards of behaviour, honesty & integrity - develop & support people.
- Lead and be involved with projects onsite.
