BBF Ltd is one of the UK’s leading ambient cake manufacturers of retailer own label, licensed and branded cakes, supplying recognisable retailers across the UK and European market. We are currently looking for a Senior Team Leader to lead and develop an Operations Team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient order fulfilment, with a focus on health and safety, product quality, cost control, and team engagement.
Who are we looking for?
- Ideally a background in food manufacturing
- The ability to coach, lead as well as manage
- Open, honest, and respectful relationships with all colleagues
- Ability to work as part of a wider Manufacturing Team, including NPD and support functions
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility – to meet the demands of the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure the team and its people conform to SHE legislation, policies, and standards
- Take a pro-active approach to the reduction of accidents, risks, and hazards on the plant to create a safe working environment
- Ensure all product released meets Food Safety and Quality standards/legislation
- Ensure the team are compliant in traceability, document control and completion
- Ensure the team always adheres to company food hygiene procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Effectively manage controllable costs of labour, raw materials and waste and ensure stock accuracy
- Deliver the production schedule on time and in full
- Drive the performance of the line across the areas of OEE, waste, weights and operational downtime
- Lead, motivate, train and develop the team to deliver business requirements
- Ensure the team consistently adheres to all policies and procedures
- Support the shift manager in developing a succession plan for the team
- Create a Continuous Improvement culture
