We are currently recruiting an NPD Process Technologist to be based at our Blackburn site on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our NPD team is split into two areas: concept and process. We are looking for a talented Process Technologist to join our process team; to help us deliver innovative new products. If you have a passion for baking and product development, we want you!
You will be part of a close-knit team that works together to provide excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic about their work. A self-starter, you will show energy and enthusiasm for the products in which you work, and you will thrive under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have experience within a food manufacturing business, preferably a bakery or equivalent knowledge/experience. A food science-related qualification is preferred.
What you'll be doing:
- NPD process from concept handover to product launch, ensuring smooth transition and scale-up in production.
- Conduct factory trials and pre-production runs to ensure product consistency and quality and successful first productions.
- Conduct necessary testing including organoleptic reviews to ensure product quality and safety.
- Work to critical path to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Ensure the output of all trials are fully documented with adherence to food safety, quality standards and customer requirements.
- Provide information to support the creation of customer and factory specifications which lead to the production of accurate specifications and appropriate product labelling information.
- Support at relevant NPD meetings.
- Ensure all NPD-related paperwork and/or samples are processed and available on time and in full as per the requirements of the customer.
- Engage and work collaboratively with the cross-functional teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and retail partners, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
