Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance sheet analysis
- Lead month-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Support statutory reporting and audit processes
Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to operational and site teams
- Provide financial insight and challenge to support decision‑making
- Work closely with production teams to analyse efficiency, waste, and yield performance
- Support with Capex, payback analysis, and operational profitability
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
- Maintain and develop standard costing models
- Analyse production variances (labour, materials, overheads) and identify improvement opportunities
- Monitor inventory valuation and stock controls
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Drive the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles
- Collaborate with department heads to develop realistic financial plans
- Track performance against budget and provide actionable insights
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting systems
- Drive efficiencies through automation and improved data analysis
- Contribute to finance transformation and system enhancements
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Significant experience in a management accounting role within manufacturing (ideally food or FMCG)
- Strong understanding of standard costing and production finance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Proven ability to influence and partner with non‑finance stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in a multi‑site or fast‑paced production environment
