We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Factory Technical Manager to join our technical team based in Blackburn. You will bring experience of leading other colleagues in a team leader, supervisory or management capacity. As a key member of the team, you will drive efficiency and success within the technical department, utilising your expertise to contribute to the overall success of BBF.
This role involves coaching and supporting various departments in achieving technical standards, managing pest control, and deputising for the Technical Manager during audits. Working closely with the Site Technical Manager, you’ll focus on driving continuous improvements in factory practices to eliminate unnecessary non-conformances and ensure adherence to retailer code approvals.
The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance, audit readiness and product consistency across the Blackburn and Shadsworth Site.
- Ensure compliance and consistency of finished products.
- Maintain audit readiness at all times.
- Define and implement “what good looks like” standards across all areas.
- Coach QAs, Production, Engineering, Hygiene, and Warehouse teams on expected standards.
- Identify and drive changes to factory practices that contribute to unnecessary NCs.
- Deputise for the Technical Manager during factory walkarounds in audits.
- Collect and manage M&S and Tesco code approval samples.
- Oversee and manage pest control processes across the factory.
- Spend 100% of time in the factory across Blackburn and Shadsworth sites.
- Work flexibly across all shifts to ensure coverage and adherence to standards.
