We are currently recruiting for a Hands‑On Toolroom Manager to join a trade moulding company based in Derby.

This is a full‑time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The company has an internal toolroom that supports production within the mould shop.

While tooling is not manufactured in‑house, the toolroom is responsible for tool repair, refurbishment, insert changes, and the ongoing maintenance of production tooling.

This is a hands‑on role that combines practical tooling responsibilities with the management and coordination of the toolroom function.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing the day‑to‑day operation and planning of the internal toolroom
  • Supporting tool repair, refurbishment, maintenance, and insert changes
  • Coordinating with external toolmakers and tooling suppliers
  • Overseeing tooling manufactured in China
  • Managing the introduction of new tooling into the business
  • Supporting production by ensuring tooling availability and performance

Ideally you'll have Supervised or Managed a Toolroom already, but Senior experienced Toolmakers with good people skills may also be considered for this role.
