Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Perform the installation of fuel systems, including storage tanks, pipelines, dispensers, and associated equipment.
- Conduct inspections and testing of fuel systems during and after construction to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum including small and large bore applications depending on project requirements.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, or sanding to ensure proper adhesion and quality of welds.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Verify that all materials and equipment used meet industry standards and specifications.
- Ensure that all construction activities are carried out according to design specifications, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Ensuring that fuel systems operate efficiently and safely, adhering to industry regulations and DoD standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, calibrating, and replacing parts as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with fuel systems.
- Document all incidents, repairs, and maintenance tasks accurately.
- Inspect welds for defects, such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Ensure that welds meet quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations based on Non‑Destructive Examination by independent CWI.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in construction, particularly in fuel systems or related infrastructure projects.
- Weld Certs: GTAW and SMAW process certifications, WPS‑P1‑P1‑GT‑SM, WPS‑P8‑P8‑GT, WPS‑P1‑P1‑GT.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of fuel system operations and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- OSHA 30‑Hr Construction Safety Certification.
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
- Capable of passing DoD Security Forces Background Check to allow entrance onto military installations.
Necessary Physical Requirements:

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel‑toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions:
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
