What will you do

As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice with BBC Wales - Sport, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you may demonstrate the following:
  • Organise logistics for live sports coverage, including travel and equipment for crews
  • Assist with planning and preparation for broadcasts in studios and at stadiums
  • Support production teams during live and recorded output, ensuring resources are in place
  • Help coordinate schedules and manage information across the production team
  • Contribute to projects that make our sports coverage efficient, engaging and audience-focused
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for job roles such as a Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on experience both inside and outside of the BBC. You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor-led workshops; tutorial sessions; presentations and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be asked to gather a portfolio of while working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification. This apprenticeship will give you a thorough knowledge and understanding of what it is like to work in production management and the media industry, which you can then utilise during your time at the BBC and afterwards in the wider industry. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:
  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
  • For candidates under the age of 19 years at the start of the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment
