LOCATION: London – Television Centre
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £35,000 plus £5,441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. To apply for this role you should identify as deaf, disabled or neurodivergent and must meet either the definition of disability in the Equality Act (2010), or the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) if applying in Northern Ireland.
You’re broadly defined as disabled under both acts if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long‑term negative or adverse effect on your ability to do normal daily activities. This definition includes both apparent and non‑apparent conditions and impairments, and medical conditions such as Cancer, HIV or Multiple Sclerosis.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Supporting social campaigns: Deliver paid and organic activity across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and more for global StoryWorks campaigns.
- Creating campaign assets: Produce high‑quality social visuals and copy that meet BBC and industry advertising standards.
- Developing social strategy: Ideate and execute innovative approaches to content promotion and platform‑specific formats.
- Ensuring BBC‑level quality: Maintain editorial and production excellence across all commercial social outputs.
- Troubleshooting issues: Resolve reported problems, collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Your Skills and Experience
- Hands‑on involvement in paid campaigns, content creation, community management and channel growth.
- Excellent grammar, strong copywriting and close attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Confidence managing your own workload and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
- Comfort using Google Docs and Microsoft Word, with a passion for media and storytelling.
Desired But Not Required
- Understanding of social media performance metrics and optimisation.
- Basic design or video‑editing skills for social content.
- Awareness of social and advertising standards (e.g. ASA/CAP guidelines).
- Exposure to branded content, commercial storytelling or partnerships.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production, editorial and marketing teams.
