Retail Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Communicate, educate and motivate retail buyers, management and marketing teams on BBC Studios’ brands, content, marketing initiatives and licensing partners.
- Craft compelling, creative and customised brand collateral for UK + EMEA retail presentations including brand presentations, one-pagers, infographics, visual graphics, analysis and summaries.
- Curate a suite of campaign assets for evergreen, emerging and strategic marketing moments for Bluey, Doctor Who, BBC Earth and new brands in the pipeline.
- Create summary decks on brand campaign performance to identify key learnings across UK and EMEA retailers that drive action to unlock opportunities or address challenges.
- Execute retail marketing activations including in-store events/promotions, costume appearances, online campaigns and bespoke opportunities that drive excitement, social engagement, traffic and sales.
- Collaborate with internal team, licensing partners and agencies to develop meaningful, step-change retail events that achieve positive ROI.
- Analyse and evaluate retail and consumer trends to identify opportunities for brand/retail placement and retail marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to, build upon and help facilitate marketing ideas that differentiate BBC Studios’ content from the competition for each channel of retail distribution.
- Coordinate efforts with internal teams – Brand, Marketing, Sales, Creative, PR, Finance and Legal to maximise efficiency and success.
- Establish growth-focused long-term JBPs aligned to the mutual strategic ambitions of retailers/partners.
Essential Criteria (Skills and Experience):
- Experience in licensing or entertainment, with a preference for backgrounds in Sales, Marketing or Retail development.
- Commercially oriented with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Ability to lead and prioritise overlapping projects with tight deadlines from conception to completion.
- Experience developing multi-platform marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Proficient in crafting compelling storytelling for our brands.
- Well-versed in UK and European retail markets.
- Proactive and collaborative team member.
- Business proficiency in German, French or key European market languages desirable.
