The New Business Manager is responsible for managing the onboarding pipeline for new business opportunities as they transition from commercial proposition into operational delivery across BBC Studios systems and services. Working across Commercial, Product, Editorial, Operations and Technology teams, the role ensures new clients, channels, platforms and services are successfully mobilised and onboarded to enable delivery of BBC Branded Services with regard to VOD content, apps and linear TV services. The role acts as the operational bridge between commercial agreements and delivery execution, coordinating onboarding activities, managing dependencies, facilitating stakeholder alignment, ensuring onboarding readiness and applying appropriate governance across multiple workstreams. It is a highly visible, cross‑functional role requiring strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and a solid understanding of video/content onboarding workflows and broadcast/digital delivery ecosystems.
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact:
- Own and manage the onboarding pipeline for BBC Branded Services new business opportunities transitioning from commercial proposition into delivery mobilisation.
- Act as the primary liaison between Sales/Commercial teams and operational delivery functions.
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new clients, content services, apps, linear channels and channel launches across BBC Studios systems.
- Facilitate cross‑functional alignment between Commercial, Product, Operations, Editorial, Technology and Delivery teams.
- Translate commercial requirements into clear onboarding plans, timelines, dependencies and operational actions.
- Identify onboarding risks, blockers and operational constraints, escalating where appropriate to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain visibility of onboarding progress, readiness milestones and delivery dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Support prioritisation discussions across onboarding demand and operational capacity.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and client representatives.
- Provide operational guidance and subject matter expertise relating to media onboarding workflows and content delivery processes.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding meetings, readiness reviews and stakeholder updates.
- Ensure onboarding documentation, processes and operational handovers are completed to agreed standards.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve onboarding processes, operational efficiency and stakeholder experience.
- Support governance, reporting and tracking of onboarding activity across the portfolio.
- Act as a trusted operational point of contact for onboarding‑related queries and escalations.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience coordinating complex operational, onboarding, delivery or project‑based work across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills, particularly across commercial and operational teams.
- Awareness of video delivery ecosystems including apps, streaming platforms, VOD services and linear channel operations.
- Understanding of media workflows, content onboarding, digital video distribution or broadcast operations.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent onboarding activities.
- Monthly/Quarterly travel to EMEA local offices.
