Purpose of the Role
Join our AV Engineering team and help deliver high quality audio visual experiences across BBC Studios. As a Junior AV Engineer, you’ll support the installation, maintenance, and operation of AV and collaboration technologies, ensuring our teams can communicate, create, and collaborate seamlessly.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Assist with the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of AV systems including audio, video, control, and conferencing solutions.
- Support Senior AV Engineers during system deployments, upgrades, and live events.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic AV and connectivity issues.
- Perform routine system checks, equipment setup, and cable management.
- Support and maintain video conferencing and collaboration platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Essential Criteria
Your Skills And Experience
- Fundamental understanding of Audio Visual systems, including microphones, speakers, displays, projectors, and signal flow.
- Experience with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or similar.
- Basic networking concepts (IP addressing, switches, VLANs at a basic level).
- Ability to follow technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and use basic AV test tools.
- Previous internship, apprenticeship, or hands on AV experience.
Desired But Not Required
- Familiarity with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX).
- Awareness of network based AV solutions (AV over IP, Dante, NDI).
- Basic knowledge of unified communications or audio networking.
- AV or IT related certifications (or working toward them).
- Ability to travel to remote offices within Europe, with occasional global travel.
