Salary: Up to £46,000 + London Weighting (£5,441) FTE, (pro-rated salary £36,800 + London Weighting £4,352.80) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Location: Office Base is London, Television Centre. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working. Remote working will also be considered.
Purpose of the Role: The role of the Content Compliance Producer is to assist the Senior Content Compliance Producer and Content Compliance Editor ensuring all branded content produced for clients of BBC StoryWorks Programme Partnerships and published on a BBC platform adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements for advertising content including the Advertising and Sponsorship Guidelines for BBC Commercial Services, and relevant national and local advertising laws and practice (e.g. the Advertising Standards Authority CAP Code).
Your Key Responsibilities And Impact:
- Provide compliance support and oversight at all stages of compliance for BBC StoryWorks Programme Partnerships production and publishing activity.
- Assess and advise on evidence to substantiate all claims made in content.
- Conduct due diligence on prospective clients.
- Offer advice and suggestions to the BBC StoryWorks Programme Partnerships team to ensure general proposals and specific treatments are fully compliant.
- Through a full understanding of the BBC's commercial guidelines, and editorial production standards, ensure all content created and published by BBC StoryWorks Programme Partnerships is within our approved activity.
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge of the area in which the role operates, including audiences, competitors and industry trends.
- Experience of critical research or journalistic skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the wider regulatory landscape.
- Highly developed planning and organising skills. Ability to manage several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
- Able to demonstrate strong editorial judgement in a fast-moving environment, and a thorough knowledge of branded content and legal guidelines.
- Can demonstrate the ability to consider a range of problems and use own judgement to apply effective, time critical solutions.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and/or compliance policies.
- Understanding of the importance of the BBC's values in accuracy and impartiality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide alternative points of view with evidence.
