Our BBC Get In Taster Days are designed to help you find out a bit more about the variety of career paths on offer and give you a first‑hand feel of what the BBC is like as a place to work.
You will get the chance to spend the day with us in
Blackburn and see in person what it’s really like working in a media environment.
It’s also an opportunity to find out about the range of jobs across the whole BBC, and hear from people who do some of those roles in the area in and around where you live.
We aim to inspire you with workshops, interactive activities, talks, question and answer sessions and of course, the chance to get a hands‑on glimpse behind the scenes.
We will be encouraging you to ask a lot of questions!
If you like what you find, we hope you might consider one of our apprenticeships as the first step into your future media career.
During your visit, we will talk you through what a BBC apprenticeship looks like, the opportunities open to you and we’ll explain the application process.
- Please note;
- You need to be currently in school or college
- Year 12 (date of birth between 1st Sept 2008 and 31st Aug 2009)
- You must have full permission and consent from your parent / guardian to apply
- You will need to provide us with their details as we will need to contact them if you are selected to take part
- You must inform your school that you have applied and provide us with the name and contact details of a member of staff, as we will need to get in touch with them
- You will need to be able to attend the Get In Programme in person.
- Your home address must be within a 1 hour commute of the BBC location at the top of this page
- The session will run from approximately 9:30am and you will need to be able to make your own way to the BBC base on the day.
If you have concerns about travel, please still apply and we will discuss these with you.
We expect to be finished at approximately 3.30pm.
- Candidates will be chosen at random. Due to the number of places available, we may have to limit the numbers of students from each school.
- You may be required to bring your own lunch
