BBC Education exists to transform lives through education. That clear vision drives everything we do as we lead the overall education strategy for the BBC. Bitesize Careers is our digital platform which helps young people navigate the world of work with advice from experts and young people who have found a path which suits them. In the Autumn, we are launching a campaign, in partnership with the Open University, aimed at 14-19-year-olds, which will inspire young people to find jobs and careers they enjoy through focusing on their interests and passions, starting with football.
BBC Children’s & Education is looking for an assistant producer to help the producer deliver the campaign. This will include setting up and delivering a launch event, commissioning a series of films and podcast series, and working closely with our partners to increase the impact of the campaign.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the producer in the running of the campaign including creating and curating content for the campaign site, articles and quizzes, supporting the delivery of the commissions.
- Coordinating cross-promotional activity with partners, including the creation and delivery of social toolkits and agreed messaging.
- Monitoring partner activity across social platforms and reporting on performance and reach.
- Tracking promotional activity and supporting evaluation reporting, including engagement metrics.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal BBC teams to maximise campaign reach and impact.
- Liaising with internal BBC teams and external partners to identify relevant cross-linking opportunities and maximise campaign visibility.
- Identify and develop promotional opportunities and adaptable campaign assets including social graphics, short-form video and copy templates that align with campaign objectives and effectively meet the needs of youth audiences.
- Create engaging, classroom-ready communications and materials tailored for teachers, career leads and school/youth group networks to support campaign delivery.
- Produce compelling written content and support social media rollout by drafting newsletter and email copy that drives participation and awareness and optimising social content to maximise engagement.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written with proven experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Strong digital skills including extensive knowledge of using content management systems to create web pages as well as using Photoshop and Premier Pro.
- Demonstrable experience in creating web and social content including editing short films.
- Audience focused on everything you do, with ability to generate ideas to create content appropriate in style and tone for a school age audience and use in the classroom.
- Effective planning and organisational skills and ability to concentrate on several areas at the same time, delivering to tight deadlines, keen interest in football, self-shooting skills and experience of working on an educational campaign.
