LOCATION: London

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £65,000 - £75,000 plus London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. We're happy to discuss flexible working. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Support Team Leader, you’ll join a critical team supporting the BBC’s broadcast output while line managing members of the CAS Servicedesk. You’ll lead, coach, and develop technical talent, fostering strong collaboration and helping individuals grow their careers within Tech Ops. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Takes personal responsibility for the output of the on‑duty Technology Support team
  • Develops team members and assesses training required, to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensures that the support team meets the professional standards expected of them
  • Assists team and customers by liaising with them when problems, changes and delays occur
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and stakeholders at all levels

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE – KEY CRITERIA

  • Experience of working within a fast-moving broadcast environment, with a strong understanding of the pressures and demands of supporting broadcast technology in a 24/7 Operation
  • Proven ability to manage incidents, problems, and technical changes effectively within a high‑pressure, customer‑focused environment
  • Ability to manage a diverse team of people and to communicate clearly with a range of people, including the ability to explain and discuss complex technical issues using a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Understanding of good management practice and experience of managing teams to deliver high standards of work and of implementing process change and new ways of working
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL Service management good practice and customer service experience
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practice and processes
  • Delegation and strong interpersonal skills
  • A keen interest in, and an understanding of, technological developments and their application to broadcast output
  • Experience as a broadcast support engineer or analyst (or equivalent)
  • ITIL V3 Foundation certificate (or equivalent)
