LOCATION: Bristol (Office based)

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £41,200 - £47,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We need a skilled sub‑editor to make our regional content for the BBC News website shine. Do you think you can add the extra little bit of sparkle to a story to make it stand out from the crowd? Can you craft an amazing headline, thrive under pressure in a breaking news environment and help coach people to write brilliant copy? If so, we want to hear from you.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Subbing content for the BBC News website
  • Providing feedback to journalists
  • Ensuring editorial and style guidelines are adhered to
  • Taking decisions as editorial lead on some days, on rota basis

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • At least 3‑5 years of experience working in a newsroom
  • Experience of subbing for a news website
  • Ability to sub breaking news
  • Extensive digital knowledge
