Reporting into the VP Digital Growth & Strategy, the Brand Partnerships & Sales Director will be the commercial engine behind BBC Studios’ next era of digital growth. This role blends creative instinct with commercial firepower - shaping big ideas that only BBC Studios can deliver, and turning them into high‑value, long‑term partnerships with the world’s most influential brands. You will lead the Digital Brand Partnerships team, build market‑defining branded content and sponsorship solutions, and position BBC Studios as a Tier 1 strategic partner for business‑critical clients. This is a role for someone who can sell with authority, think with imagination, and build with intent.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Build and execute a high‑impact commercial growth plan.
- Develop and instil the business strategy and shape the team structure needed to deliver it - with a relentless focus on branded content, sponsorships, and multi‑platform partnerships.
- Shape a world‑class commercial product suite.
- Define the next generation of BBC Studios’ digital partnership products - giving advertisers distinctive access to our global fandoms, premium IP and multi‑platform reach.
- Set the vision for a data‑driven value proposition.
- Partner with our data teams to build a commercial insights product that strengthens pitching, pricing, targeting and measurement across all deals.
- Lead strategic, creative partnership conversations.
- Drive C‑suite and senior‑agency discussions that unlock long‑term, innovative partnerships - elevating BBC Studios as a creative and commercial thought‑leader.
- Champion the commercial potential of our IP.
- Work cross‑functionally to align stakeholders and ensure our global catalogue — from global franchises to emerging brands — is activated and monetised to its full potential.
- Own key client relationships and drive growth.
- Develop a focused, strategic list of priority clients. Build pipelines, nurture relationships, and convert opportunities into multi‑year business.
- Deliver market‑leading pitches.
- Craft compelling, insight‑led, creatively ambitious proposals that win briefs, deepen partnerships, and showcase the full breadth of what BBC Studios can offer.
- Manage the full sales cycle end‑to‑end.
- Own the relationship from pitch through execution, working closely with production, content, creative and operations to deliver exceptional partnership outcomes.
- Drive revenue and performance accountability.
- Hold full responsibility for branded content and partnerships revenue targets, KPIs and forecasting - sharing updates regularly with senior leadership.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Proven success selling multi‑platform, content‑led partnerships.
- You have a track record of building and selling ideas that span social, digital, experiential, talent, and broadcast - with a strong grasp of how branded content delivers against brand, performance, and audience objectives.
- Experience leading high‑performing partnership or sales teams.
- You know how to set direction, coach talent, motivate through ambiguity, and build a culture that wins. You inspire confidence internally and externally.
- Strong record of innovation and commercial creativity.
- You can design commercial products and partnership frameworks that tap into audience behaviour on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and emerging formats. You understand how to build things that scale - not just respond to briefs.
- Deep understanding of digital ecosystems and social video.
- You bring curiosity, expertise and passion for how platforms evolve - creator economy, fan engagement, commerce integrations, data signals, format trends - and can translate this into partnership value.
- Outstanding strategic and creative response skills.
- You can take a brief, interrogate it, push it further, and translate it into a compelling, insight‑led, creatively strong proposal that solves real business problems.
