The role of the Commercial Procurement Manager - Finance involves repositioning the Commercial Procurement team to become a strategic enabler for the BBC, partnering with divisions across the group. The Finance function aims to be a trusted partner providing world-class financial insight that drives the BBC's mission and Value for All strategy, underpinned by four priorities:

The Commercial Procurement Manager will partner with stakeholders to influence the appropriate sourcing approach by:
- Driving third-party commercial strategy whilst navigating risk.
- Operating independently while leading junior staff across a pipeline of defined category projects.
- Ensuring BBC standards are met and public procurement regulations are followed.
- Owning governance processes to ensure approval routes are navigated efficiently and effectively, resulting in the best outcome for the BBC.
Your Key Responsibilities & Impact:
- Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Preparing strategic presentations and reports for category stakeholders, providing data-driven insights and spend management recommendations.
- Delivering procurement projects against plans from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, escalating issues as necessary to senior management.
- Maintaining good relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and ethical standards.
- Analysing market trends and data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Developing and implementing strategic category and sourcing plans that align with business goals.
- Establishing processes to navigate approval and governance processes.
- Coordinating with internal category stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Monitoring and reporting on procurement performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Conducting performance reviews and providing continual feedback to junior staff.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Ability to manage business process outsourcing contracts and associated contract management activities for financial services.
- Ability to negotiate commercial change and drive cost optimisation from financial service providers.
- Ability to manage a daily relationship independently with one of BBC's key strategic relationships.
- In-depth understanding of procurement processes in a public regulated environment.
- Relevant project management skills for successful end-to-end delivery of procurement projects.
- Significant interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in managing a commercial relationship with suppliers, including managing volumetrics and validation of complex billing.
- Ability to analyse data and apply it to market context and trends for actionable insights.
- Experience in procurement software and tools.
- Proven background of successfully delivering cost optimisation.
