PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As part of the global production team, the Script Editor will work closely with our global production offices and 3rd party producers to give editorial advice, feedback and support on any of our titles from the scripted formats catalogue.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Bible creation of all new scripted formats and maintaining and updating existing filing system and asset management.
- Be the first point of contact editorially to our global production offices and 3rd party producers and channels for interest in titles from the scripted formats catalogue.
- Work with global production offices and 3rd party producers and channels through pre-production process (synopsis, character breakdowns, draft scripts) and feedback with suggestions and editorial advice.
- Some foreign travel may be required in the role.
- Create and manage a new filing system for media management using Dropbox to acquire and store episodes from UK scripted titles and International local versions (including subtitling).
- The role will involve extensive media management.
- To work effectively with other departments, suppliers & partners (internal & external) ensuring the BBC maintains excellent relationships throughout.
- To support the Creative Network team with presentations, edit reels and interview scripts for press releases, industry events and marketing materials.

The International Script Editor will report to the Head of International Production Consultancy.
Scope
The role of the International Script Editor is to provide international production support editorially for all scripted titles.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Creative self-starter with initiative and tenacity and ability to see how their work fits in with the wider needs of the department and division.
- Experience or an interest in self-editing on Adobe Premiere as part of the role will involve planning and editing reels and short VT films for creative exchanges, events and internal presentations.
- Experience of using applications like Canva for creating presentations is an advantage.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience of self editing
- Experience of CANVA / writing decks.
