As a HR Support apprentice, you’ll play a crucial role in the BBC, gaining the skills to build a rewarding career in people management. BBC Studios HR Operations team: The BBC Studios HR Operations team plays a vital role in delivering core HR services, supporting employees, managers, and the wider HR team across every stage of the employee lifecycle. We manage the BBC Studios intranet and People systems, and through a strong focus on continuous improvement, we aim to simplify processes, enhance efficiency, and elevate the overall employee experience across the organisation.
Performance, Leadership & Capability Team: The Performance, Capability and Leadership team drives delivery of strategic priorities by fostering a strong performance culture and high‑performing teams. They establish effective goals, performance management, and reward structures, while embedding leadership behaviours and organisational development principles. The teams ensure the business has the right skills and talent for future needs, support succession planning, and design development programmes that strengthen both organisational capability and individual growth across the business.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Work alongside a dedicated HR team within the BBC, learning the ins and outs of their processes
- Provide support to colleagues and contribute to making the BBC a great place to work
- Assist with day‑to‑day HR tasks, which will vary depending on the team you are placed into
- Develop strong communication and organisation skills, which will set you up perfectly for a career in HR, or allow you to take these transferable skills to another area!
You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you’ll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 3 Human Resources Support apprenticeship with our learning provider, using its virtual delivery platform.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
- Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
- Not already hold a qualification in the same subject area (Human Resources) at the same or a higher level than this apprenticeship.
- To apply for this scheme, you must also have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or above or an equivalent qualification.
