PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Join BBC Commercial Group Finance as a Group Finance Analyst – Management Reporting & Consolidation, where you’ll sit at the heart of both financial reporting and finance systems. You’ll deliver high‑quality consolidated reporting for senior leadership, Executive Committee and Board audiences, while ensuring data accuracy, strong controls and smooth system operation across SAP S/4 and BPC.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Consolidated reporting: Support monthly and quarterly management reporting across the Commercial Group, including Executive Committee and Board outputs.
- Financial insight: Prepare clear written and verbal commentary, analysing trends, risks, opportunities and key drivers.
- Data validation: Validate actuals, forecasts and planning data across SAP S/4, BPC and related tools to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Systems & issue resolution: Act as a key contact for consolidation queries, system defects and data load issues, working closely with Finance Technology and external providers.
- Process improvement: Identify and deliver improvements to reporting, consolidation and automation, including SAC dashboard development and standardisation initiatives.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent relevant finance experience.
- Strong experience in management reporting, consolidation and financial controls.
- Ability to work confidently with large financial datasets, including analysis, reconciliation and validation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to varied audiences.
- Experience using ERP, consolidation or reporting systems within a Record to Report environment.
- Strong stakeholder management capability, with confidence to challenge inputs and manage deadlines.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical ability.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement, standardisation and automation.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience producing senior‑level management reporting for Executive Committee or Board audiences.
- Background in a matrix organisation, ideally within media, entertainment or a similarly complex environment.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4, ECC, BPC or SAC.
- Experience with data transformation and reconciliation across finance systems.
- Exposure to finance systems support, including query resolution, UAT, defect management or change requests.
- Familiarity with audit and control frameworks such as ICFR or EMC.
- Experience creating training materials or user guidance for finance systems.
- Ability to coach users and promote best practice across a finance community.
