PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the BBC World Service as a Senior Tester, helping deliver trusted, impartial news to 1.5 billion people worldwide. Lead testing across complex, scalable platforms, shaping quality from design through delivery. This is a high‑impact role that influences engineering practices and ensures audience access to reliable content across languages, devices and environments.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Lead and evolve the testing strategy for a defined product area, embedding quality across the software lifecycle
- Review and assess new features, define test plans and collaborate with engineers to ensure performance and reliability
- Design, build and maintain automated test suites to support delivery at scale
- Act as a quality advocate, influencing best practice and driving early defect prevention
- Coach and mentor others, contributing to a strong learning culture within the team
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience in running accessibility testing in line with WCAG and BBC guidelines
- Experience working closely with a multi‑discipline agile team, including Product Managers, UX Designers, and Software Engineering Team Leads
- Experience writing test approaches, raising and triaging issues in JIRA and issuing weekly and final test summary reports to key stakeholders
