BBC Children’s and Education are looking for an Assistant Producer to join a team taking BBC Bitesize on the road to deliver careers advice and inspiration to 110,000 secondary school pupils. The tour will take place in schools across the UK, delivering 4 × hour-long sessions in each school, hosted by BBC Talent and featuring a panel of inspiring guests from a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

  • Work closely with the Producer and wider team to inspire and educate the audience while promoting the Bitesize brand and enhancing the reputation, reach and impact of BBC Education.
  • Help devise and deliver content for secondary school audiences.
  • Ensure editorial standards and production values are maintained and safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation to ensure all content is first-class, thoroughly researched, accurate, and aligned with audience needs.
  • Coordinate with the office team to ensure all parties have the relevant information, details and deliverables for each event.

Skills and Experience

  • Interest in creating and delivering engaging educational content and events that inspire young audiences and meet learning objectives.
  • Creativity in designing innovative activities tailored to secondary school students, with strong awareness of relevant TV, film and talent.
  • Champion diversity and effectively engage under-served audiences.
  • Build and manage relationships with external partners (schools, educators, businesses) with strong communication skills.
  • Assistant Producer-level experience, including applying BBC policies, planning, meeting deadlines, and leading collaborative teams.
