PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £40,000 plus £5,441 London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
BBC EXTEND
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Create standout graphic design that bring BBC stories, products and campaigns to life across digital, social, video and CRM channels. Apply and motion graphics to bring digital assets to life to increase engagement
- Design high-impact creative that supports audience growth, engagement, retention and subscription objectives across BBC.com.
- Turn creative briefs, audience insights and editorial priorities into compelling visual storytelling and campaign assets.
- Develop storyboards, animations and motion content that enhance user experiences and maximise audience engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across editorial, marketing, product, UX and growth teams to deliver effective, audience-focused creative solutions.
- Present and refine creative work through stakeholder feedback, contributing ideas that strengthen campaigns and the wider brand experience.
- Embrace emerging technologies, AI tools and industry best practice to continuously innovate while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accessibility and BBC brand integrity.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Digital Designer or Motion Designer, ideally within media, publishing, digital products or other content-led organisations.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating digital campaigns, motion graphics, animation and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong motion graphics and animation expertise, creating engaging content across digital, social and marketing channels.
- Experience developing creative assets for web, social media, video, CRM and performance marketing campaigns.
- Excellent understanding of design principles, including typography, branding, layout, visual hierarchy and audience-focused storytelling.
- Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Working knowledge of Figma and collaborative design workflows.
- Experience working within established brand systems and design frameworks across multiple platforms.
- Experience developing storyboards and motion-led creative concepts.
- Experience using AI-powered creative tools to enhance efficiency and creative output.
- Experience using Premiere Pro and working with video production workflows.
- Knowledge of 3D animation software such as Cinema 4D.
- Passion for storytelling, innovation and creating work that reaches global audiences.
