PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £26000 - £30000 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Resource Scheduler to play a vital role within our team, working closely with operational departments across BBC Wales and a wide range of external partners. This role embodies our organisational values collaboration, integrity, and accountability while providing high quality operational support.
As a Resource Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and contracting resources including staff, facilities, and equipment to meet production schedules, transmission requirements, and agreed conditions of service. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence by ensuring resources are deployed efficiently, processes are followed consistently, and decisions are made with professionalism and sound judgement.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate resources in line with operational needs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high operational standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for scheduling queries, providing guidance and escalating issues appropriately for timely resolution.
- Monitor resource utilisation and system data, ensuring accuracy through reporting, verification, and proactive issue resolution.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, project teams, and production areas to support forward planning, leave coordination, and operational continuity.
- Manage freelance engagement, standard rates, and additional hours, demonstrating commercial awareness and responsible ownership of resourcing decisions.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Strong organisational capability, managing multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adaptable and responsive, adjusting effectively to changing operational and business needs.
- Experienced in scheduling systems, with strong IT skills and the ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
- Solid understanding of relevant policies and the Working Time Directive, supporting compliant and efficient scheduling.
- Communicates professionally and works collaboratively, contributing positively to team goals and a supportive working culture.
