PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Media Control Team look after content for a number of clients and services.
Ingesting from live feeds, taking delivery of camera cards, organising file transfers and working with a number of archive, scheduling and media management systems.
They ensure that all recorded content for transmission on S4C is correctly delivered and technically compliant, including handling late delivery and complex productions.
They support continuous linear transmission and delivery to on-demand platforms, working closely with BBC Wales Post Production and teams in other parts of Nations Business and Operations.

- YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Working within a shift-based team, covering 7 days per week, 365 days a year.
- Processing daily deliveries of S4C programmes and other content, working closely with S4C's libraries and scheduling teams.
Performing high-level checks to ensure compliance with the BBC's delivery standards.
- Planning, processing, and delivering files for post production, including ingest activities from camera cards and live capture, file access from other systems and archives.
- Providing live playout of content for transmission.
- Working autonomously, and often working alone, dealing with complex and unplanned requirements.
- Communicating promptly and effectively with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of our post production and transmission activities.
- To be or to become competent in the use of systems including Dalet, Avid and EVS for loading and reviewing content, and constructing edit sequences from multiple original files.
- Prompt reporting and escalation of any technical or operational issues.
- YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience of working collaboratively in a small team with technical, engineering and production colleagues.
- Experience of working to fixed deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience of working to strict guidelines demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience of using software for creating or editing content.
- Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and balancing priorities.
- DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Knowledge Avid and/or Adobe Premiere.
- Experience of using Media Asset Management systems.
