WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
- Indie Delivery Unit: The Indie Delivery unit centrally supports the BBC\âs Content team, working with Independent Production Companies and internal stakeholders across London, Manchester and Birmingham. The Business Administrator will work with our delivery and payments teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the commissioning and business operations workflow. They will also have opportunities to support wider business strategy, challenging current processes and exploring the introduction of new technologies and automation.
- Business Management & Admin: The Business Management and Administration team supports the Chief Operating Officers Group through collaboration, purchasing, governance and expert advice. With around 70 members, BMA drives initiatives, manages meetings and assists directors. The team values innovation, continuous improvement and embraces technologies like AI. Joining BMA means gaining experience, making an impact and being part of a closeâknit, forwardâthinking group that helps the business run smoothly and efficiently across divisions.
- Group Strategy & Transformation: The Group Strategy & Transformation team helps shape the future of the BBC. We work closely with top BBC leaders to give advice and come up with smart, creative ideas for how BBC services like iPlayer, BBC Sounds and Bitesize can improve and grow. We also lead the BBCâs Generative AI team, which explores new tech like artificial intelligence and helps different parts of the BBC use it in exciting ways.
- News IT Asset Management: The Information Technology Asset Management team is responsible for the IT asset estate across BBC News. We look after the IT budget and are responsible for ensuring adherence to the BBC IT Policy across the News division. Weâre also here to help you get the best from your IT and equip staff with everything they need to do their best work.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Work directly in a BBC team and pull back the curtain on the worldâs leading public service broadcaster.
- Provide critical administrative support that keeps the heart of the team beating.
- Keep the team on track and ensure deadlines are met, working at pace to solve problems on the job.
- Communicate with colleagues across departments, building relationships and networks.
- Learn the systems, processes and skills that keep a major global organisation running smoothly.
Youâll study for your industryârecognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means youâll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with our learning provider, using its virtual delivery platform.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026.
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship.
- Be legally eligible to work fullâtime in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
- Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation.
- Not already hold a qualification in the same subject area (Business Administration) at the same or a higher level than this apprenticeship.
To apply for this scheme, you must also have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or above or an equivalent qualification.
