LOCATION: Bristol - This role will require you to be office based 3 days a week.

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,300-£36,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Interviews will be held in person at BBC, at Bridgewater House week commencing 20th of May.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM BBC Studios Natural History Unit (NHU) is the best‑known and most loved producer of natural history content in the world, responsible for some of the most globally successful factual content of the past 10 years.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Natural History Unit is currently seeking a proactive and highly organised Team Assistant to support the Director of Commercial and Operations as well as other senior leadership. This pivotal role will serve as the backbone of the Natural History Commercial Team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of day‑to‑day operations. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality support across a wide range of responsibilities, including acting as the first point of contact for the leadership team, being front‑facing with existing and new clients, and coordinating various projects and activities as well as day‑to‑day administrative tasks.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Preparation of documents, decks and presentations for clients with some support from the Commercial Executive; follow up with future clients and update our tracker appropriately.
  • Organise key team meetings including coordination and distribution of agendas, supporting documents, production and distribution of minutes, and follow‑up on outstanding actions.
  • Work with colleagues across the organisation to help deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Organise events and hospitality arrangements such as away days, workshops and conferences.
  • Develop a good rapport with key internal and external stakeholder teams.
  • Make routine arrangements and bookings and provide diary management assistance to Senior Leaders as required.
  • Maintain, efficiently operate and improve a range of office processes and administrative systems to ensure the smooth running of the team.
  • Travel arrangements, both domestic and international, including visas and other required documentation.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Evidenced ability to research, gather, analyse, collate, and deliver complex information from previous experience.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple activities under pressure, while maintaining a strong attention to detail in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Comfortable with client management and external stakeholders management.
  • Proficient computer skills with strong experience of office software packages including Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work well with a range of people at all levels, including drafting clear and consistent comms on behalf of the Senior team.
  • Ability to use own initiative with minimal supervision and deal with routine queries as they arise, escalating to others as necessary.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Media sector experience or experience in a commercial team.
  • Social media experience for a company.
